We all know driving in some cities can be tedious, and Miami, Florida, embodies that the most. As many of you know, the Brickell Bridge, while famous, is a thorn in many drivers’ side, as the schedule often causes issues for those commuting to work or home. Now, it seems many citizens have had enough, as they have taken to social media to complain about the scheduling. Even if some hope this may change, others believe this is a Miami tradition many have to live with.

The Brickell Bridge opening at 9 am is insane

A post by Reddit user u/efea_umich on the Miami, Florida, subreddit gathered a lot of attention after sharing that the opening of the Brickell Bridge, particularly at 9 am, is among the worst there is.

According to OP, the reason is that the bridge stays up for around 20 minutes, or even more at times. At that moment, it seems about 200 drivers are waiting to pass, which, as you can imagine, creates a lot of traffic for commuters.

At first, many thought this would be an isolated case that no one would talk about, but to the surprise of many, the post became one of the most popular in the aforementioned subreddit. Apparently, many people have had enough of the Brickell Bridge scheduling.

So far, many Redditors have said that this is something that has been part of Miami life for several years. Some even speculate that things like that happen due to the wealthy in the city, which also strikes a nerve with many other locals.

In any case, this justifiable rant gathered many other disgruntled residents who decided to share their opinions on the post.

Florida Drivers Want the Brickell Bridge To Have Better Scheduling

While it may not be possible to keep the bridge open to cars all the time, people have talked about how to fix the scheduling, which has become an issue for many drivers.

“The Metromover is a good option between downtown and Brickell if you don’t want to deal with the bridge situation.“

“My question to all who work in Brickell and need to commute in… why don’t you take the many other non-bridge entrances to Brickell?“

On the other hand, many see this as something completely normal and have just told Redditors to get used to it.

“Wait until the day it gets stuck…then you will really have something to complain about.“

As the last users say, there isn’t a lot to do now beyond leaving your home earlier or looking for an alternate route. Still, many think it would be great for authorities to try and prioritize drivers more often.
